Watching it on Netflix now. Al Pacino was so hot in his prime as well

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

I think that was one of the worst films, ever.

our son is a professional. First class degree.Camera speciality. He agrees.

Love it. Think I prefer Godfather 2 though.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 23/12/2025 19:45

I wasn’t keen on it. (Scarface)

The sister in Part 2 always intrigues me. There’s a huge backstory untold there.

DS and his mates walked in on the horse head scene last night. I am very, very cool for knowing of such a movie that they had NEVER SEEN!!!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 23/12/2025 21:01

Woah! Time to educate!

Edited

You know from the wedding day that’s going to be a car crash.

Keaton’s role is a masterclass of intelligent contrast to the needy Connie, and the ultimate “if only” to the route Michael took.

I KNOW! You can bring them up devoted to CGI, but when the chips fall GF blows them all away.

Then again, last night they got home to San Andreas and were not convinced by my extolling the virtuosity of The Rock’s earthquake defying capabilities.

Oh it IS

And he IS

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 23/12/2025 21:09

@VitriolinsanityOh Connie and Carlo definitely, I mean whats happened to her in the time lapse before Part 2. Diane Keaton so beautiful as well, hard to believe she’s passed away.

It really is a masterpiece. I rewatched it a few months ago and the cinematography still holds up better than most modern films. Pacino was definitely at his peak there.

Have you read Pacino’s autobiography? Or even better, listened to on audible?

He says he was off his face for most of filming. In the context the studio wanted to sack him, amazing performance under duress.

Thank you for this, I will be listening!

When De Niro turns up, however, he acts everyone off the screen. Pacino is better looking but De Niro is utterly compelling.

Anotherdayattheforum · 24/12/2025 20:46

@ProfessorRizz oh no! Let’s not pit the boys against each other. Each ‘special’ in their own way 😏

PodMom · 24/12/2025 21:14

Watched it this morning. Came back to this thread and had to google who Robert de niro played as didn’t recall seeing him but I’m crap at recognising people so wasn’t surprised. But see he wasn’t in the first one. Didn’t realise Diane Keaton was in it either.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/12/2025 21:17

Well @PodMom did you like it?
