Anyone seen it? It's an absolute gory hoot 😆

Lots of squished heads 😆 and absolutely no redemption for that family. Brutal.

I wasn’t keen on the opening premonition. It was too ‘out there’. It didn’t take an ordinary experience and make it terrifying like they did with the others.
It was very OTT in terms of the death scenarios. As I said to DH in the cinema at one point, how exactly does one accidentally get an MRI? 😂

But it was good fun, and I’m still a big fan of the whole franchise.

Needhelp101 · 23/05/2025 15:26

I thought it was monstrously entertaining! Had to shut my eyes at lots of scenes but really 'enjoyed' it.
The opening scene was an absolute corker and reminded me of what a good song 'Shout' is.

SocksAndTheCity · 23/05/2025 15:41

I loved it, although Tony Todd made me cry Sad

The people to my left got up and walked out after ten minutes or so, and didn't come back. I have no idea how you can wind up sitting in the sixth Final Destination film without at least an idea of what's going to happen, but apparently it's possible 🤣

spookysoul · 23/05/2025 15:54

@SocksAndTheCity oh I’m so glad it wasn’t just me that cried 😆 I had read the day before that he improvised his final lines, and it was actually his goodbye message to his fans, knowing that he didn’t have long left. So watching it in that context broke my heart.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 26/05/2025 14:42

Going to see this at the weekend. I know they got daft over the years but still love the concept and how the deaths build up. The 4th was terrible but still watchable and love the ending of the 5th

Glad Tony Todd makes a appearance even if his last:(

Needhelp101 · 26/05/2025 21:28

I actually think this is the best of the franchise (which is unusual for the sixth film in a series!). Rewatched the first one today and you can see how much more sophisticated (and gory) the films have got.

SocksAndTheCity · 27/05/2025 13:26

I think you're right @Needhelp101 . It's pretty CGI-tastic but so are all the others, and the technology for the effects has really caught up with what they were trying to do all along. The set pieces looked great, the lengthy bait and switches/red herrings were bang on and so were the funny bits.

I also liked the family relationships and especially the two brothers (I giggled when they were in the hospital looking at the babies 😂), and all the Easter eggs for people who knew the others. Lots of log trucks 😀

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 27/05/2025 13:45

It had some good kills (MRI machine was my favourite) but I was disappointed they didn't do more with the blood lines concept. Would have been good to have references to characters from the other films.

The cinematography was nice. Lots of lines.

SocksAndTheCity · 28/05/2025 16:26

I think they referred to Kimberley from the 2nd film, and when they were trying to remember the name of the nearby hospital somebody suggested Clear Rivers 😀

I also rated the MRI machine, but the bin wagon and it's set up were a nice touch too, since it led to the family secret being revealed.

Yes, that was clever.

I must admit that I thought that a way of breaking the curse could be to kill someone who actually wanted to die, i.e. was possibly terminally ill.

I do tend to overthink horror films though. Don't get me started on It Follows 😁

DH, DD and I are planning to watch this soon. DH likes Quentin Tarantino but hates gore in horror movies so I’m not sure what reaction to expect of him.

Is it like Tarantino on meth?

There's at least two really, really gory scenes. I shut my eyes for both of them but got got by a few flashbacks!

Apart from that, I'd classify it as Deadpool gore, if that makes sense, so not hugely upsetting.

Worth a watch. It's entertaining.

No, it's nothing like Tarantino (or Kubrick, or Scorsese, or any other unrelated director).

It is quite like Tom and Jerry 😀

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 01/06/2025 21:07

The opening scene was tense!!!

Enjoyed it..easy viewing silly but in a fun way! Loved the bin truck and all the logs!! And then ending was fun too!!

The glass though urghhhhh

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 02/06/2025 16:20

I found the opening scene a little too long. I'm sure the previous opening sequences have been shorter?

sociallydistained · 02/06/2025 16:28

I loved it!

Member984815 · 24/07/2025 21:07

I loved it , watched it with my daughter ❤️ we regularly have logging trucks go by our house and it always reminds me of the earlier one

XenoBitch · 04/08/2025 21:28

Just watched this today. Loved it.
I hope there are more to come.

There was an actual MRI death in the news recently. Guy went into the room and was dragged into it by a metal chain he was wearing.

Pugsy99 · 07/08/2025 12:47

It was so satisfying to finally find out why It happened, iv been wondering since the first movie lmao
