I want to improve my English. Where would you recommend watching movies with subtitles so it’s comfortable to follow along?

As long as you don't take the translations too literally, sometimes they're absolutely nothing like what the actors have said.

I think you're better off just to get out and talk to people. Maybe go on something like.'Nextdoor' and offer a language swap where you speak for an hour in English and an hour in your native language.

Netflix is best for subtitles, ime. I agree that the subs are sometimes an interpretation of the script, not a translation. The good thing about Netflix is that you can switch the language (audio and/or subtitles) and replay the scene to check your feeling that it wasn't quite right.

When I'm learning a language, I try to immerse myself in it as far as possible. I agree that subtitles in your own language help to follow the action while getting your ear attuned! You do need to change to the original language after a while, though, or you just get dependent on the translation. I prefer to do this progressively; some learners go for full language shock.

Watching movies is a great idea — I used the same method to learn English. I know how important subtitles are, so I recommend this website: https://tv.apple.com/.
It has lots of movies in different languages and dubbing options.
