I have read the book but haven't seen the film yet. Apparently the book and film are quite different, so hope it stands up.

Just been to see this, I liked it although it was a little heavy handed in places and slightly too long.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 18/04/2025 09:46

Yeah did feel wasn't enough penguin but cute little film

I saw it tonight. It is significantly different to the book but still a good film. There were a few kids in the cinema who I think were a bit young for it and were probably disappointed. I suspect their parents were expecting more penguin and less politics.
I enjoyed it though, and have to confess to having runny eyes at the end even though I knew what was coming.

The old video of the actual penguin in the pool, at the end, got me crying.. 🥲🥲

I saw this a few weeks ago, it was good. The ending was a little abrupt IIRC. Steve Coogan was good as always, and I liked his friendship with the Scandinavian(?) guy - I think he could have been in a few more scenes, he was funny. The penguin was cute and I loved the scenes where Steve Coogan’s character was trying unsuccessfully to get rid of it 😄

I enjoyed this. Taught me a little about a period of history I knew little about. And loved the penguin and Steve coogan.

I really enjoyed it, a lovely bank holiday film.

Saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it. Learned something about Argentia and the coup. The penguin part was funny and joyful. I laughed out loud a lot and cried. Wonderful movie.

Really enjoyed it (although secretly wished they's stuck more closely to the book) and had a few tears at the end.

I was expecting it to be heartwarming and funny, but it was actually really sad
