They're 18 & 15.

They love marvel but I'm not so keen.

Like Sci fi action though!

This week we watched Deep Blue Sea and Final Destination (son of similar age). We both enjoyed them - the cheesiness was a bonus

I like sci fi. 🙂 Some of these don't really count as 'action' though.

I took a chance on The Creator at the cimema when it was out and enjoyed it.

I have tried to avoid the obvious sci fi classics (which of course I highly recommend!) but films that I have enjoyed include 12 Monkeys, Minority Report, Looper, Upgrade, Ex Machina, Edge of Tommorow, Equilibrium and Chappie.

For comic book fans maybe Watchmen (the film, not the series), Dredd or V for Vendetta?

I haven't looked at the age ratings, but I would have happily watched all at 15 yo.

If your sons are into animated films, you should try Treasure Planet. Its a great sci fi space pirate film. Its technically not on netflix but its a really good watch. Just watched it last week with my daughters, they love it so much.

Operation Mincemeat - we all really enjoyed it.

Is that the Disney one based on Treasure Island? I can remember being impressed that it managed to keep a lot of the original story despite the change of setting.

I thought of another that I took a chance on and enjoyed: Pandorum.

Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One was really good, even though I'm not much of a fan of the previous Mission Impossibles.

Top Gun Maverick also went down well.

More action than sci fi but might be good for some Marvel films to see some stunt work that isn't all CGI!

Old Guard- darkly funny, lot's of action
Jumanji the next level - surprisingly v funny
fifth element - classic

I wouldn't recommend 'Watchmen' personally: I found the Comedian/Silk Spectre storyline very disturbing and complex. I think it's very much a mature adult film.

The 'Fifth Element' is great fun and 'V for Vendetta' is brilliant.

'Mystery Men' is loads of fun and I think underrated (if available on Netflix).

It is based on Treasure Island apparently. This is TIL for me.

I’ve watched War Dogs with my DS this week. It’s not Sci-fi though.
