The Monkey

Gory, stupid and made me laugh a lot, although I suspect lot of that is down to the audience - I saw it at the Prince Charles last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and whilst it's a bit thin it's good fun, the monkey is creepy and the various inventive kills are more Looney Tunes than grim horror.

Anybody looking for an antidote to the endless long, worthy and earnest Oscar-bothering stuff needs look no further 😀

Fun movie, nice bit of splatter, I didn’t need to engage my brain.

Easy daft viewing. Bit final destination with the deaths..ending was bonkers!

I was really disappointed. The monkey looked great. The script though was pretty poor and not as funny or pacey as it needed to be making the tone weirdly uneven and oddly boring and slow. He's a really interesting director but he needs to hand over the writing reins to someone who has those skills. His storytelling is very basic.

So bad it was good. A handful of people walked out disappointed at the screening I went to but it was funny and the gore kept coming.

I don't understand why people would walk out - it's not like there was any pretence it was going to be anything other than a series of bizarre ways for characters to die :D
