I am searching for a certain movie or series - Location Port Macquarie

I am new to this forum. I've been searching for a certain movie or series for a long time that I saw as a child in the 70s. Basically the movie consisted of 3 or 4 parts. Each one lasted about 60 to 90 minutes. The total running time was 3 to 5 hours. The most specific thing I remember is that the movie was set in Port Macquarie, Australia. There were big boats with sails. A little boy of 8 or 9 played a role. I still know the soundtrack. I could create an audio file and post it. But I don't know if it is possible to post the audio file in this forum. Can anyone help me? That would be great.

The ABC TV series Castawaywas filmed in Port Macquarie, New South Wales in the early 1970s. The period drama is about shipwreck survivors stranded on a Pacific island in 1840.

It says it was 13 episodes of 30 mins each, so not what you remember, but perhaps you saw ‘double episodes’. The cast list is linked in the article to see if you can find the child actor you remember. The description of it seems to imply boats would be in it.

While reading the related Wikipedia article, I noticed the name of the wrecked ship: “Mary Jane”. I had heard this name before as a child. I also found the actor who played the boy: Alan Cinis.

I will try to buy this movie somewhere in the next time to watch it. Maybe I'll be lucky.
