Help name this film!

No idea what it was about, when it was or who was in it. The bit I remember was the woman was having an affair and married to a man that she thought didn’t love her. She was with the man she had left him for and removed her wedding band and he had engraved it years ago and she was reminded that ‘he did love her’ and went back to him.

Im not well but remember the scene well and I can’t for love nor money remember the film and it’s driving me bonkers. For some reason I think Elizabeth Taylor is involved but I’m scratching my head here.

She clearly has left him and with her new love and the wedding ring is taken off where she sees it is engraved with something (date of first meeting or something) I get the feeling that the husband was a work alcoholic or something and she apologises to the new guy and says ‘he needs me and he loves me’- it’s older that than Richard Gere film and I’m sure it has someone like Elizabeth Taylor as the wife ….. I’ve hunted through her filmography and can’t see anything that might ring true. Umm I’m stumped 🤔

I believe it’s Butterfield 8, the 1960 film that starred - you’re right - Elizabeth Taylor. She said she only won the Oscar for it because she was seriously ill when voting was taking place.
