I loved it but left with questions re the domestic violence.

The scene near to the end with the mirrored glass in between was great. I feel like everything stopped while I watched.

Oh I loved this movie. And the soundtrack by Ry Cooder is magical.
Yes the scene with Kinski and Dean Stanton makes the whole movie. I think he has some redemption at the end. Was one of my favourite movies for quite some time. Not seen it for many years though.

I was left half thinking about redemption but mainly he just felt quite scary still.

The music was great.

i watched it after seeing Perfect Days which I also loved.

It’s a beautiful film to watch but I am unsure that the ending provides the best solution for the child. Don’t want to say more as don’t want to give spoilers.

Added spoiler alert now…

I like to think Kinski gets in contact with in-laws and they manage new arrangements between them.

Its interesting seeing that visceral mother/son bond love at the end and also the deep consistent parental love he gets from the aunt and uncle who have raised him.
