yes Clive Owen is overrated.

VictorianSqualor · 27/04/2008 19:41

I thought it was a good film, yes it was depressing but I thought the way the economy had collapsed was great, really made me think.

It reminded me of 'the last train'? a BBC made for Tv drama from a few years back.

Watch it Iota.

Iota at least if you watch it you will know what all the fuss is about!

I thought it was terrific. It blew me away and in Michael Cain house scene they used one of my fave John Lennon songs, Freeda people

I was quite entranced by Clive Owen...until he started being the face of L'Oreal or some such wankery.

eenybeeny · 27/04/2008 21:59

moony did you find it depressing though?

moondog · 27/04/2008 22:11

eenybeeny · 27/04/2008 23:05

Thank goodness you liked it Mondog!
I thought I was all alone then.
Cue me asking DP rather desperately if he thought it was a good film!

ChairmumMiaow · 28/04/2008 08:04

I'm not a big Clive Owen fan (awful in King Arthur, but good in Closer IMO) but I was entranced by this film, despite its completely depressing premise. I thought it was slow to get started, but still great overall.

I actually thought that the way everyone responded to that tiny helpless baby at the end was an encouraging message though (don't want to spoil the film) which lifted the film a lot for me.

I was totally gripped by this film, thought it very well acted and if anything underplayed. michael Caine was superb as was Pam Ferris. I'm a bit of a sci-fi geek, love trashy B-movie type films but this was intelligent movie making. Still left wanting after the sad demise of Babylon 5 'sigh'
