Pharrell Williams biopic/documentary in Lego!
This includes Lego Neptunes/NERD, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Busta Rhymes, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and my favourite (worth the ticket on his own) Lego Snoop - all voiced by themselves. Apparently nobody was told it was going to be Lego until the interviews had been done.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, but I love both music and Lego so it suspect it might drag a bit for those not as familiar with PW's back catalogue, although the story of his background is engaging too. It's bright, colourful and uplifting, the soundtrack album should be something to behold and there was quite a bit of in-seat dancing going on; it's a PG rating, IIRC.
It's only ninety minutes or thereabouts so skims over quite a lot, but I thought it really worked and I'm looking forward to watching it at home so some proper dancing along can be had. Out on November 8th 😀
