We're off to see it shortly, I'm not sure I'm gonna like it but being brave I don't like scary films and I'm undecided but don't wanna sit indoors again!

Just got back from watching it… enjoyed it very much.

Just back from watching it! I thought it was shockingly bad!

mysparkleismissing · 24/08/2024 09:05

I actually enjoyed it I think... did hide behind my cardigan for some of it though!

Strangely I used to watch everything which really confuses my husband as I now refuse to watch scary stuff. This was about my limit!

I loved it. It’s quite a feat to deal with that subject and create laughs as well as the horror. It looked very cool as well.

Cantthinkofonenow · 27/08/2024 15:18

Just got back from seeing it. It was alright not sure I would watch it again. It wasn’t scary at all though?

duc748 · 28/08/2024 15:27

Was considering having a look at this, but reviews seem equally split between 'terrible' and 'very good'!

PeggyAKADogpool · 28/08/2024 15:28

The people saying it's good, did you enjoy 'Nope'?

ConstantlyFuriosa · 20/09/2024 02:22

I really liked it - right up until the point about 40 mins in where two of the protagonists have a chat about ‘feminism’. It was jarring and poorly written. That bit, I mean. The rest was stylish and I was really hooked from the get-go.

Alia Shawkat is brilliant. She steals every single scene in just a out everything I’ve seen her in.

A really good debut from Zoe Kravitz, apart from that scene mentioned above.

Oh, and a wonderful soundtrack. James Brown, Candi Statton - what’s not to like?

I had mixed feelings about Nope until I realised it wasn’t exploiting animals but highlighting their exploitation. Then, I loved it.

Do you think this is based on Epstein island?

Do you think this is based on Epstein island?

Absolutely 💯 .

If I'd had any idea what the last third of it was going to be like I never would have watched it

Why not? They get their revenge and that’s the best bit!

purpleme12 · 23/07/2026 09:48

Because I found some of the scenes quite distressing and would never choose to watch those scenes. And sordid. And I don't understand why you'd make a film about it either

And then the mangled faces and bodies as well at the end. I don't avoid violence full stop in films at all but this was different.

I didn't know it was going to be like that from what I read

SocksAndTheCity · 23/07/2026 11:47

Thanks for bumping this - I didn't realise it was on iplayer so I've added it to my watchlist. I thoroughly enjoyed it in the cinema Smile

ConstantlyFuriosa · 23/07/2026 11:53

Well, I loved it. And thought young Ms Kravitz did a great job of showing how women can be pitted against each other but come together when strength is needed.
