Does anyone have any recommendations for any good films, any genre is great, just not American. Nothing sinister in it, they're just shot differently and I prefer the method other countries use.

Have all streaming services except Disney. I'm happy with subtitles too so that's not an issue either.

If available, look at anything by Celine Schiemma or Pedro Almadovar.

Goodbye Lenin, it's a really lovely German film.

If you google BFI you'll get lots of films from different countries. I watched 'A Date For Mad Mary' and 'The Toll' last week - both brill.

The Intouchables - French with English subtitles. People were crying with laughter in the cinema, including me. It's on Prime Video.

The McDonagh brothers films- the ones I have seen are In Bruges, The Guard, Calvary, The Banshees of Inisherin and all were good.

Once Were Warriors, Whale Rider, Eagle vs Shark, Goodbye Pork Pie, The World's Fastest Indian

Muriel's Wedding, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Oyster Farmer (a bit odd that one, but I liked it)

Pan's Labyrinth, The Lives of Others, Downfall, Patagonia, Bombon El Perro, The Consequences of Love (bit odd, slightly heavy going, but good acting)

Twin Town, Human Traffic, Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, Dog Soldiers, Dirty Pretty Things, Children of Men, The Last King of Scotland, Intermission, I Went Down, Into The West, Ondine, Hotel Rwanda

Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Four Lions, Death at a Funeral (American director and some US actors but set in England)

powershower has listed some excellent Kiwi films. To those I would add Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Boy, and The Piano.
