Does anyone know why cinema employees come into the cinema mid film and look around where people are seated with binoculars???

I always assumed it was to make sure you’re not recording. Though pirate films can’t be such a big business now they’re on Netflix three weeks after you’ve watched them at the cinema.

They aren't binoculars, they are night-vision devices, apparently, says DS. They are looking for all sorts, recording the film, 'inappropriate behaviour'. Also most cinemas ban hot food and alcoholic beverages. Also 'pungent food' as DS calls it. Some chains have a blanket ban on own snacks and beverages.
