Ticket to Paradise

I like Julia Roberts and George Clooney and I was in the mood for a light-hearted romcom the other night. I thought Ticket to Paradise would be perfect but it's utterly charmless and if there was a joke in the first hour of it I missed it. Did anybody else see it? And also, are there any decent newish romcoms on any of the streaming services?

I was on MN throughout most of it though because it was so utterly boring. I also don’t get why they jumped off the boat in the end?

I thought they jumped off the boat because they decided to spend more time with their daughter there and then rather than waiting so were swimming back to shore?

Agree though, poor film, didn’t really engage me much. Missed large parts not paying attention but obviously not the bit at the end!

I turned it off after an hour. I almost went to see it in the cinema when it came out and now I'm glad I didn't waste my hard earned money.

utter crap. couldn't watch more than 10 minutes. felt the hollywoodisation of balinese culture moronic and offensive.

Agreed- what in earth was the teeny tiny seaweed farm that sells to whole foods all about?

They made everything look twee and was pretty insulting

Yes, totally agree. If she had fallen come to Ireland and fallen in love with a Galway man who harvests seaweed for organic cosmetics the whole country would have been taking the piss out of the film.

That reminds me that I've still never seen Wild Mountain Thyme.
