It’s a totally ridiculous French language shark disaster film set in Paris. OMG, I loved it!

anyone else?

I loved it, I love all shark films, the shitter the better!

Pricklyhogs · 12/06/2024 15:59

shark films are great, no matter how shit. But this one is actually pretty good, even dh enjoyed it!

the live ammunition left over from the war in the river Seine is true apparently. So it was factually educational too. Not sure the shark science would stand up to scrutiny however.

Would this be suitable to watch with a 12 year old? Dh wont watch it because it's dubbed 🙄 dc dont want to watch anything with kissing or anything suggestive (with me anyway!)

Thorinfling · 12/06/2024 16:07

I loved it too! Gloriously bonkers.
Scariest shark movie for me was the one with Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, Dark something? The shark attacks in that were terrifying.

ZippyDenimBear · 12/06/2024 16:09

First 10 mins was good.

Rest so boring, not a moment of tension.

Didn't make it to the end, so it maybe picked up again.

Was crazy disappointed, massive fan of shark films...

ZippyDenimBear · 12/06/2024 16:10

Yes, fine for 12 year old

rewilded · 12/06/2024 16:11

I thought it was a bit dull. Good effects but it was like a TV movie.

User478 · 12/06/2024 16:15

I watched it last night, it was amazing.

Might watch it again tonight (or the Meg 2)

If you watch it in French you can absolutely count it as educational.

I think it might be my new favorite French film.

Also hated meg 2.

Love jaws, deep blue sea, the shallows, open water.

Meg 2 and this film just have no suspense or characters to care about. Too much awful CGI. Boring.

Pricklyhogs · 12/06/2024 16:42

Deep Blue Sea is fantastic. Surely the best post jaws shark film. I really liked this though, I thought there was a decent amount of tension. I think the dubbing makes it more difficult to engage with the characters - the Mayor was particularly bad - but I still really enjoyed it

Deep blue sea is my favourite, 37 metres below is fantastic for suspense and fear. I really enjoyed under paris!

susiedaisy1912 · 12/06/2024 18:06

Was looking forward to this but got bored half way through so gave up.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 12/06/2024 18:18

I also gave up halfway through. It was clunky, illogical and biologically utterly implausible.

Hoppinggreen · 12/06/2024 18:19

It was ridiculous, I loved it and not just for the Hot French Cop

afrikat · 12/06/2024 18:21

Loved it!

So did I, and I love a shark film. The CGI was so bad it was like watching a cartoon anyway.

SkyRace · 12/06/2024 19:27

I loved it. Watched it in bed on laptop, then made sure we all watched it following night on big screen TV.

I enjoyed it for the shark and hot cop element. My French speaking kids enjoyed it and found the destruction of Paris, visually mesmerising.

We all laughed in the end. Superbly entertaining though.

Yes! I was so looking forward to this as love disaster films, shark films, schlocky action films and French films, so it should have been right up my alley.

I switched off halfway through. Boring, silly and none of the characters were interesting.

I watched a film called Alone on Amazon instead, which was EXCELLENT if anyone's looking for an unbearably tense, pared-back survival thriller.

Ah, yay 😀

Devilsmommy · 12/06/2024 22:24

DH told me it was awful so haven't seen it. My favourite is Bait, Australian film, excellent 👌

rewilded · 12/06/2024 23:13

Alone was brilliant! Will try Bait now!

Devilsmommy · 12/06/2024 23:35

@rewilded you won't be disappointed 😁

SocksAndTheCity · 12/06/2024 23:52

No you definitely won't, @rewilded . Bait is brill 😀🦈
