I just saw this tonight and thought it was really good considering these films have been done so many times.

I saw it when it originally came out and was pretty scary! That little kid on the trike...

Totallybannanas · 08/04/2024 00:52

Yes all pretty scary! This was a pre quel and a little different.

Amazing film. And so classy. No swearing, nudity or sex.
Just a bloody good plot!

I think we saw a different film! Or are you talking about The Omen that was released in the 70s? The First Omen is a prequel, and I wouldn't exactly say it's classy. 😁

What channel is it on, I love all the Omen films😁

The First Omen is in cinemas now, its a new film telling the story of how Damien was born.

JMSA · 08/04/2024 08:48

Ahaa, sorry. I'm talking about the first film, made in the 70s Grin

soupfiend · 08/04/2024 08:51

Brilliant film, as others have said, genuinely spooky and classy.

I havent heard of First Omen, we know how Damien was born, not sure I understand the need for that?

Totallybannanas · 08/04/2024 12:02

I think this is the first of a new franchise, hopefully there will be more to follow. I think it was really good and set the story up well

Haha! I thought exactly the same.
Can't beat a bit of Gregory Peck.
And the score and that Nanny = chilling combination!

@I'llBuyThatForADollar

Oh, absolutely!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 08/04/2024 20:05

The music was creepy!!! Thought was going to be predictable and dull cause what made the Omen creepy was Damian and his child face. Still uneasy though! The reasoning behind it all was interesting...

MaudGone · 09/04/2024 18:06

I was just watching "Kolchak". There's an episode about the rise of a politician, which seems to have heavily inspired the plot of the first "Omen" film.

OneFrenchEgg · 09/04/2024 23:07

Just back from- are we doing spoilers? I have questions. Overall I found it funny (unintentionally) due to daftness and not very scary.

SingingSands · 10/04/2024 00:51

I thought you meant the original one. My dad met my brother and I watch this as kids in the eighties. I was fascinated and terrified in equal measure. We used to call my brother "Damian" because he was a little shit. Think that was why dad put it on to be honest...

Absolute classic. Amazing film. You can never get the same atmosphere with a remake.

JanglingJack · 10/04/2024 00:58

Oh I thought you were on about the original! Much confusion.

cariadlet · 10/04/2024 02:55

Also confused because I hadn't heard of The First Omen.

But all the comments are making me want to watch the original 70s one again.
I think that was the first horror film that I ever saw. So good.

cariadlet · 10/04/2024 02:58

The proper one is on YouTube!

I clicked play and the music grabbed me immediately. It's so atmospheric.
