Saw him on the news last week. Was it good?

I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to.
The plot was predictable and the acting was just ok. Not sure Dev was convincing as the action hero.

There have been some recent good films that I have rewatched but this won’t be one of them I’m afraid 😟

Honestly, I thought it was pretty poor.
Dont understand the good reviews.
the violence was gratuitous and set piece, you could see the moves coming a mile off.
the equality stuff about Hejiras was clumsy & trite.
Dev Patel has two looks: brooding and angry; and bloody eyed and raging.

character development almost zero. All the women are either saints (his mother), victims ( the sex workers) or malignant narcissist criminals the hotel manager). No complex characters there. All a bit Madonna and Whore for me.

Also didn't enjoy. Felt like no one had any character development, not even Dev! Just angry man wreaks bloody revenge. I get dozing off

I felt the complete opposite about it. I loved it and I didn't even want to go and see it, DH wanted to go and I just fancied the popcorn! It had a very dry wit throughout, plenty of character development and the violence was both explicit and intense yet also kind of tongue in cheek and funny. The soundtrack fueled the whole thing along perfectly.
