I am not bothering with this one having watched two documentaries about her in recent years. I also feel it is too soon for a life story film.

I'm looking forward to it, I love her music. I'm a little apprehensive that I might find it upsetting. Such a young life and huge talent cut short...

Me neither. I've seen the trailer a few times and it doesn't look great, not helped by the fact that the lead actor looks absolutely nothing like her.

I normally try to see just about everything, but I'm giving this a swerve.

The reviews are out now and the general consensus is that the film is average, but Marisa Abela is getting raves for her performance as Amy.

I saw the trailer in the cinema last week it really doesn't look great sadly.

The actress looks and sounds like Lilly Allen it was really confusing me.

I watched it this afternoon. I enjoyed it. The actress playing Amy was really good imo.

Saw it tonight, it was better than the trailers implied. I thought she was quite good in the role and the music overall is great (not just Winehpuse songs).

I thought it was ok, but was more about her music than her really, which meant it didn't really do her story justice.

I absolutely loved it.

Against my better judgement I'm going tonight, on the basis that I can't have an opinion if I haven't at least tried to watch it (plus the cinema is five minutes' walk away and cheap on a Monday).

There seem to be quite a lot of fairly sanitised musical biopics at the moment unless I'm imaging it - I've seen the Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin ones fairly recently, plus we've had Rocketman and the Freddie Mercury one. I suppose they must be popular, but I'd rather see the documentary again.

If you like her music you’ll like the film, I really enjoyed watching the actress in Industry so was keen to watch the film.

I loved her music and was lucky enough to have seen her live three times so a pale imitation isn't appealing much to me, but I'll give it a fair go.

I'm trying to think of it as like a jukebox musical rather than an actual story Smile

Saw this on Friday and loved it but also felt so sad after watching it

Just back from seeing it. Good film. It's a light touch on her story but well acted. Critics have been very harsh. Much better than say Priscilla or Ferrari from earlier in the year.

Also just back from seeing it. How I didn't walk out I have no idea - it was like watching a clunky tribute act during the music bits (or maybe a particularly try-hard turn on Stars In Their Eyes), and trite, fluffy rubbish during the rest. The dialogue made me cringe so hard I almost turned myself inside out, and the supposedly North London accents were even worse.

God, I wish I hadn't gone; that's the first time in years I've come back from the cinema genuinely regretting ever leaving the house. I'm really annoyed with myself, because she deserved so much better (or preferably to be left the fuck alone).

Just looking at the trailer puts me off. The actress looks nothing like her, and the cockney accent... No way. All from a 40 second flash bang to my eyes.

No.

Just don't, @JanglingJack . As stupid and melodramatic as it sounds, I'm actually quite upset about it.

I went tonight and to be honest wasn't expecting it to be very good from the trailer but I really enjoyed it.

I doesn't do her justice. Plus the entire existence of Mark Ronson was just wiped out. Huh? The documentaries tell enough, some lovely moments of her growing up, and her true friends chatting about her.
This is odd.

I loved it. I thought it was really sensitive and was filmed more from her perspective showing you what was actually happening in her life as she became more erratic publicly. I enjoyed it so much I went back again today. I don't understand the criticism.

It wasn't wiped out. They gave it a mention. The film wasn't about Mark Ronson. It was presenting snippets of how her music progressed.

Yet Rehab was barely in it and You Know I'm No Good wasn't in it at all, despite being the stratospheric hit singles that changed everything for her?

The entire production of the Back To Black album was summarised in a few seconds of her recording the title song, with nothing at all about her writing any of it. 'Snippets' is pretty accurate, but there were a hell of a lot of missing ones.
