It's still not clear which movie you mean (Mean Girls 2 or Mean Girls the Musical which is currently out in cinemas) but I loved the original movie and saw the musical on Broadway in 2019 and it was outstanding so I'd be happy to see the movie musical version and know what to expect. Mean Girls 2, which was straight to TV/DVD was crap.

It's a movie of the musical adaptation. Not mean girls 2.
I loved it but mainly because I love Renee Rapp to be honest

I didn’t like it. I thought the casting was weird.. the Regina George character looked about 30 and was kinda over weight. Which is fine. obviously. But the whole point is that RG was supposed to be skinny and her obsession with her weight was clearly unhealthy silly vanity. I also thought the acting was generally rubbishy. But the girl who played Janice Ian (who was moana) was amazing.

The songs weren’t catchy and didn’t add anything. So I think it should have been left alone as a film!

Erm she really isn't overweight

@vacay don’t get me wrong, I still think she looks nice! But there I just think the skinny plastic vibe isn’t really applicable to her so didn’t seem like she had the right look.

Renee Rapp also isn't 30.

She was 22/23 during filming. And only 19 when she took over the role in the Broadway cast of the Mean Girls Musical.

It might be worth knowing @SophieinParis that she is in recovery from an eating disorder that nearly ended her career so your comments are particularly unnecessary and mean yourself.

Rachel McAdams, the original movie Regina was even older during filming at 26.

I get a lot more out of musical adaptations if I don’t compare it with the original film. Did I find it enjoyable, yes, was it fun, yes, did I think it was well cast and well acted, yes and yes.

Dont be silly. You are allowed to comment on the appearance of actors in the context of casting when reviewing a film. Appearance, inc body shape and the age they look massively affects perception of the character. (Her ED is her business and so I wouldn’t want to comment on that.)

I just thought the whole point was RGs
identity as queen bee was upheld by her being “skinny”. It’s a major plot line tbf - the energy bars, being chucked out her group when she gains weight. I just think it made more obvious sense with the previous actor.

So not Mean Girls 2 then? May want to get your OP and title changed
