What other films will be up my street? I love the 40s/50s era, and anything to do with immigration to America (especially New York) around that time is a plus.

Tv shows and book recommendations also welcome. I’m still reeling that the spin off series with Julie Walters never came to fruition!

Not immigration related but I love the films Mona Lisa Smile, A Walk in the Clouds, Age of Adaline due to their time settings.

There's an Ed Norton movie called Motherless Brooklyn you might like. Not about immigration but a really good story anyway.

Big Night with Stanley Tucci. About a couple of immigrant brothers trying to open a restaurant.
