I found this absorbing and have to say that Penelope Cruze stood out with her performance.

It is great. The costumes and sets were amazing too.

Terrible. Found it really boring. Car stuff not enough. Racing very unexciting. Then all about his life equally boring. Could have been SO much better. All about the fashion and the period and gosh life.
Very disappointed 🤷‍♀️

Agree Penelope Cruz was great but thought the film was utter tripe.
An hour before any racing.

Saw this today, thought it was totally tedious. There were lots of exciting things they could have covered, but it seemed to finish at the point in history where it would have been better starting.

Penelope Cruz was good, but the whole wife/mistress subplot was given too much airtime without really going anywhere and Shailene Woodley didn't seem the right choice as she is so unremarkable in every way ( or perhaps that was the point).

Oh and why was everyone speaking English in heavily accentuated Italian accents ? I struggled to understand some of the actors, particularly his mother and as they were speaking anyway English I couldn't really understand the point of it.

Just back from seeing this and it was not good. I went with DH and didn’t expect to enjoy as much as him but towards the end he turned and asked if I wanted to leave as it was so crap! Needs subtitles. Took about 45 minutes to work out what was going on. Would have been much better in Italian with subtitles.Disappointed.

We saw this tonight. I found it really difficult to understand a lot of the dialogue. I also couldn't follow some of the plot, there seemed to be gaps in the story.

Subtitles would have been helpful. The very heavy fake Italian accents were ridiculous.

Saw it last night, it was okay but it took a while to work out who was who (apart from Enzo) and what was happening, I think because the dialogue was so difficult to understand.
