Best Christmas film on Netflix?

I'm home alone this afternoon and fancy celebrating the holidays with a cuppa and an easy film. There's about a million to choose from on Netflix. I don't want the Grinch or any of the ones I've had to watch with the children over the years. Maybe a romcom? Something nice and relaxing.

Any recommendations?

Love actually

I recently watcged the switch one. That was good

Interesting - The Holiday and Last Christmas were the two I watched at this point last year and loved!

Elf is one of those I really don't want - comes under the category of films with the kids over the years.

Will have a look at Love Hard and Single all the way, thank you.

Holidate if you want a Christmas rom-com.

Is it me or does Love Hard sound like a porn version of Die Hard?

Klaus, hands down the winner. We've watched it twice this December already, and my son is nearly 25. Not just for kids.

While You Were Sleeping and The Family Stone are both great.

When Harry Met Sally and The Apartment both end at New Years Eve, is that close enough? (The Apartment is an oldie but has the best final line after "Nobody's Perfect" in Some Like It Hot, also a Billy Wilder movie)

I love the old ones as well - Holiday Inn, White Christmas, Miracle On 34th Street (both b7&w and colour), The Homecoming (The Waltons, very corny but sweet) and of course It's A Wonderful Life

Christmas At Pemberley Manor is rather lovely. Very classic Christmas film with all the key elements, high flying executive, cute little American town that is still picture perfect and affluent, handsome romantic interest.

It's no Oppenheimer but guessing that's not what you after.

I saw it on Netflix ages ago so no idea if still there or available.

I need some good recommendations 🥰

MyOtherProfile · 21/12/2023 19:38

Thank you all. I went for Love Hard today which ticked the boxes - easy watch, predictable, feel good, Christmassy. Just what I needed! Might squeeze in another recommendation tomorrow.

Second the suggestion for Holidate, and if you want a short one (it's only an hour) then Click and Collect isn't a romcom but is very funny.
