The Excorcist: Believer

Just got back, I enjoyed it and the ending, it didn't have too much horror in it as I remember the original being more outlandish.

I do think the original was better. I liked that they bought alternatives to the Christian church also.

I saw it on Friday too!

Overall, I enjoyed it, I thought the first hour was very well done and genuinely creepy in places, it did fall apart toward the end but I do think they pulled it around and I found the ending to be quite shocking and it stuck with me for a while after it ended.

I think being a part of something as seismic as The Exorcist it was always going to be found wanting. That film is one of, if not the best horror film ever made, that is a huge pair of shoes to fill. As an exorcism movie, Believer is most definitely better than most, however as an Exorcist movie it does fall short.

I thought the girls and the dad were brilliant and I love Anne Dowd. Didn't need that many jump scares though, that's lazy horror in my opinion 😉.

I will more than likely watch the two follow ups that are expected.

Found it quite touching in parts! Glad it didn't get silly silly and the ending was quite a shock in a way.
