Flora and Son

Has anyone watched this?

Just watched it. Was quite enjoying it, and then it suddenly ended. Dh and I looked at each other and said, ‘is that it?’. Up to then, quite enjoyed it (although a little slow in places).

Yes me - watched it this evening.

I quite enjoyed it, and thought Eve Hewson was great, but also found the ending really odd. I couldn't believe it when the credits came up, and was left sitting there thinking hang on aren't you forgetting something..?

That’s what we thought.

We expected one of many endings:

1. The song becomes a hit and mum is given a hundred percent of the profits as promised by the song writer (sorry forgotten half the names).
2. The son’s song becomes a hit, and the girl glances at him and acknowledges him.
3. Mum and songwriter meet up in America (or UK).
4. mum and songwriter kiss.
5. mum and dad get back together

Mumsnet - could you change the title to ‘Flora and Son’ please

I agree the ending was quick. I suppose we are left to think of all the directions their lives could go after the performance.

I liked the fact that it was a more realistic ending. It was just so nice to see that Flora and her son had a much better relationship through music. I didn't think it needed a happy ending as such.
...but I want to know how he got the Canada Goose coat!
