I found this very underwhelming and charmless. I really enjoy Agatha Christie adaptations but this was just meh.

I saw it earlier today, I liked it!
I thought that Rowena was Grace from peaky blinders but it wasn't. Doppelgangers.

OuiRagamuffin · 26/09/2023 22:56

@Mouldyfoodhelp maybe somebody spoiled the whodunit

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 27/09/2023 09:57

It bore virtually no resemblance to the source material and Branagh it a very different take on Poirot. I would have enjoyed it more without trying to make it a Christie.

That aside Jude Hill was really good in this, as he was in Belfast. A child actor to watch as long as he doesn't go off the rails 🤞

I enjoyed it. And my teenage DD enjoyed it so much. She came home and watched the other two on Disney +.

soddingspiderseason · 27/09/2023 17:15

To be honest, I actually started laughing at some of it part way through. It was so daft in parts and predictable, which is not what I want from an Agatha Christie. Glorious nonsense. Was more Midsomer Murders than Poirot.

I also think Kelly Reilly and Annabell Wallis look alike.

Not as good as I was expecting but good fun all the same. Not as good as previous films in the series.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/10/2023 08:21

I saw it last night and absolutely loved it!

mum2jakie · 25/11/2023 17:14

This is now on Disney Plus if people still want to see this. Just watching now.

mum2jakie · 25/11/2023 17:15

Tina Fey is not a good Ariadne Oliver! I only know her from Only Murders in the Building.

HesAWankerOp · 25/11/2023 17:18

Arghhh, we had planned to watch this on Disney+ tonight. Not so sure we should bother after reading this thread. We enjoyed the first one, not so much the second one. Sounds like the third might be even worse!

Witchbitch20 · 25/11/2023 17:21

Absolutely rubbish

burnoutbabe · 25/11/2023 22:06

We watched tonight and glad I saved it for a free Disney plus watch.

It was silly! I am glad I didn't pay for it.

MissyB1 · 25/11/2023 22:08

Dh and I have just finished watching it, we enjoyed it.

MissingMoominMamma · 25/11/2023 22:10

I thought it belonged on Sunday afternoon TV.

BorgQueen · 26/11/2023 17:22

It was a damn sight better than the truly awful Death on the Nile.
It was a shame most of it took place on a soundstage in Pinewood and not in Venice.

Autieangel · 27/11/2023 22:19

It wasn't bad. I liked the spooky element although I disliked how much they deviated from the original story.

The whodunnit was very obvious. Not as strong as the last two films.

CatOnAHotShedRoof · 30/11/2023 20:27

DH & I watched it this evening. Tbh I thought it was not as good as the previous two. I thought there was quite a bit of mumbling and I missed some of the dialogue, despite gaving the volume turned up way higher than normal. It was also too dark and gloomy.

DH fell asleep before the end and I had to tell him what happened! The best bit, for me, was the beautiful panoramic view across Venice at the end.

MattDamon · 30/11/2023 20:31

All of Branagh's Agatha Christie adaptations have been poor. Orient Express is the only one I made it all the way through and even it wasn't great.

Cismyfatarse · 30/11/2023 20:38

Slept through it.

musicinspring1 · 30/11/2023 20:58

I didn't like what they did to the character of Ariadne Oliver - it really didn't feel like her. Bring back Zoe Wanamaker!
