I saw it today and came away feeling weird about it. Visually I liked it, and for a Disney film it was relatively scary. Lakeith Stanfield did well in it.

But I just came away feeling bored, I feel like whilst it offered snippets of horror, comedy, emotion, story it was all in too small supply to keep me entertained

How does it compare to the original?

I'm not sure I've seen the original to be honest. Went into it blind as somebody else wanted to see it.

I’m thinking of taking me kids to see this. One child is 8 years old, do you think it would be too scary for a 8 year old?

I'm not sure I don't think som I think my 7 year old nephew would be scared of it.

There are jump scares, death, insinuations of suicide and I think some of the ghosts would be scary. I'm not the best judge but going by common sense media both adults and kids reviews say 10/11+.

Oh that's disappointing to hear! I love the original and was looking forward to seeing the remake

I loved it.

Nice movie! A mix of several genres, it is quite well done and the special effects are good!
