Loved it.

nearly 3 hours and it felt like an hour. I’d have watched part 2 right there and then if I could.

I think it’s great the Hollywood is pumping out a load of old identity politics, so that when Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie deliver even more bang for your buck than their last outing, we can really appreciate an old style, simple bit of entertainment without much in the way of political agenda. But calling mi7 old style doesn’t do it justice.

im sure i was out of breath numerous and exhausted and hyper all at the same time by the end.

Will be going again on Weds to see it.

Bloody brilliant. The car chase was insane. Knowing that he did those stunts adds another layer.
And the train. The train. I got so hot & stressed watching it 🤷‍♀️🤣
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all round 👏

Could have heard a pin drop during the cliff sequence!!! And the train…. My adrenaline is flowing just remembering!!

Was brilliant, the hours wizzed by. Even my teenage enjoyed. And she hasn’t seen previous ones.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 12/07/2023 21:35

I saw it today - was brilliant! That train sequence. I wonder how you even start to make such a thing. The talent involved, amazing.

ComputerInitiateJump · 13/07/2023 13:09

Has anyone seen it in 4DX? I really want to but I can't get through a 3 hour film without a wee and not sure how it's possible with the seats throwing you around 😄

ZombieBeryl · 14/07/2023 15:32

Absolutely stunning action film. On the edge of my seat the whole time.

TappingTed · 14/07/2023 21:28

Do you have to know the storylines of the previous ones? Or would it stand alone as a film?

Summerhillsquare · 14/07/2023 21:51

I read that as MIL Dead Reckoning and was wondering if it was about a very creative DIL disposing of her MIL!

I would advise watching MI Rogue Nation and then MI Fallout so that you can understand the bond between Ethan and the other characters, especially Rebecca Ferguson's character Ilsa. Technically Dead Reckoning has a stand alone plot (I think), but you won't care about the characters as much unless you've at least watched Rogue Nation and Fallout.

TitilatedOcelot · 15/07/2023 11:42

I haven't seen many of the previous ones and absolutely loved it, so I think it does work as a stand alone. I will now go back and watch the earlier ones to learn more about the characters though.

The stunts were incredible. I saw it in 4DX and the chairs really fling you around in the action sequences so don't do 4DX if you get travel sick or have a bad back!

Whatthetrolley · 15/07/2023 19:59

I've never watched a MI film but watched this today and thought it was amazing. Didn't feel I needed to have seen previous films to keep up with the story. Simon Pegg's character is brilliant. Los of sharp intake and laugh out loud moments. As previous posts have said the train scene was immense. I may now go back and watch the other films.

Niftythrifter · 16/07/2023 15:10

This was a perfect MI film and probably number one of all the films I have seen all year ( and I have seen a lot of films this year!). The subject matter is perfectly on point given the writers and actors strike and some of their concerns! I’d like to see more of The White Widow and for her to be more involved. It’s great that they have linked the first film to more recent ones!

Sidge · 19/07/2023 07:59

Saw this last night. Thought it was great!

The time for by, didn’t feel like a long film, so much action. Quite tense in parts, and the stunts are just draw jopping with minimal CGI apparently.

I know TC is mad as a box of frogs but he sure knows how to make a cracking film.

Sh4rkAttack · 20/07/2023 10:38

Never seen one before, but the train scene was filmed near me, and I'd watched the preparation for it, so was curious. Was also curious about 4dx so thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone and took the kids last night. Absolutely loved it, and being flung around in the chair definitely added to the experience (though for the pp asking, their are enough clan bits that you wouldn't have a problem getting in and out of the chair to go to the loo).

Kissedbyfire1 · 22/07/2023 20:58

Saw it last night, really enjoyed it and as PP have said the train sequence is amazing. Only slight quibble is not enough of the Pegg and Rahmes characters. I’d like to see a lot more of them. Don’t love Grace as much as Ilsa.

Sarvanga38 · 23/07/2023 20:05

Just seen this, feel like I’ve done a couple of hours exercise being tense. 😆 Loved it!

Dowhatshard · 24/07/2023 11:08

Loved it. Great fun, Grace’s character driving scenes has my teenagers crying laughing. All the female roles were strong. Tom Cruise made another great film.

GrethaGoat · 31/07/2023 00:10

The best thing I can say about this film, is that I had a really good deep sleep in the cinema. It was the most boring film I have seen since… Top Gun… but I honestly had such a lovely slew I really enjoyed it 😅
