Saw this at the cinema a couple of days ago. Did laugh quite a lot at it but there was one scene that I felt was kind of shocking and when we got home DH asked me what I thought of the film and I said I was quote shocked at X. He said he was too and it's the bit that stuck out the the film - it wasnt required was quite aggressive in how it was filmed id say and It just didn't follow the tone of the rest of the film.

Anyway, we both enjoyed it, I mean it's an easy watch rom com so it's not earth shattering but was good to see on a rainy afternoon.

Just wondered what others thought about it? I don't want to post the scene for spoilers.

What was the shocking scene?

Is it the scene at the beach where she quite forcibly wants to have sex with him? And if the roles were reversed ie older man in 30's trying to strip and have sex with a teenager it would be quite inappropriate?

Just saw this today and loved it, putting the initial premise to the side. I laughed a lot and felt it had some heart.

Talking about aggressive scenes for me the obvious choice would have been the jennifer lawrence retrieving her clothes that I found funny but it was a little aggressive.

I found that Jennifer Lawrence seemed huge compared to her co star so it made him seem younger than 19.

The one scene I really didn't like was after he found out destroyed the car ( fair enough) but then went back to have sex with her knowing he destroyed the car. He did it to punish and humiliate her so he could flaunt the car being destroyed after and it just left a bad taste in the mouth. I think that should have been revisited even if its a one liner about treating the women in college better/ both get off etc.

We just started watching this as dh saw an article claiming it was the funniest film of the year. We gave up when she started giving him a kap dance. I was pretty shocked that Jennifer Lawrence agreed to a fully naked beach fight tbh. Didn't add to the film except for adding to the general feeling it was some kind of teenager's wet dream. Couldn't be bothered after that.
Bit weird knowing how disturbed she's was when her private photos were hacked and all over the Internet. Do you think she got paid a shit load more to do that or something?
