Me and DS1 have a rare night alone together tonight. We have the snacks ready and he wants to watch a film but we can’t decide what!

What films have you watched with your older primary aged kids that they loved?

Does it have to be a PG

or are you happy with 12s as long as ok in your eyes?

Tisfortired · 24/06/2023 19:17

@Jazzappledelish some 12s would be fine as long as they’re not too sweary!

The greatest showman
The little mermaid
Anything Pixar or Disney really
Mean girls (anything from that time like freaky Friday, confessions of a drama queen)
Harry Potter
13 going on 30
Spider-Man - other marvel films

(My 9 year old niece likes these)

How To Train Your Dragon 1, 2, and 3. Ds is 8. He recently enjoyed Ron's gone wrong but we will happily watch HTTYD over and over and over.

DS9 loves

Marvel (but you have to be mindful which ones, no Venom or Eternals, the others were "ok with")

Pirates of the Carribbean franchise

Classic Disney films
Aladdin
Jungle book
101 Dalmatians

Newer Disney films

Big hero 6
Brave

We rotate film night each week so we all choose films. Currently working our way through marvel, but also liked both new jumanji films, and the original, all star wars and rogue one, solo etc, recently did all harry potter films, Lord of the rings, spider verse films, strange world, Ron's gone wrong, wreck it Ralph, loved free guy..original spider man (maguire)and superman (reeve) films. And last week was oceans eleven!

My DS likes films like this too.

He also loved Jungle Cruise, and his favourite movie is currently the third Star Wars prequel.

Other hits have been Ron’s Gone Wrong, Wall-E, Spy Kids, original Jumanji, The Goonies, ET, and Home Alone.

Also Parent Trap (Lindsay Logan version). And Little Rascals.
