Does anyone wonder why they haven't made a drama series about the victims and their lives?

It could last 3-4 seasons at least! and it would be so interesting!

Pretty depressing. However attached you get to the woman, however interesting they are, you know they are going to die horrifically

Have you read 'The Five' by Hallie Rubenhold? I know it's a book rather than a film but I thought it was excellent

Second @AllTheOtherCats . It would make a good series too.

Yes! I've read loads of books on the subject which is why I think a series on their lives would be so awesome (although very sad)!

I think it would end up being an unpleasant combination of gratuitous and misogynist. No matter how much the focus would be on the women, in reality it would end up being about 'Jack' and the murders — which were especially violent and gory. It would just be more dead women on TV.

I do think you have a point, at one level — who were these women, what were their lives like, that kind of thing. But serial killer TV only ever goes one way, in my opinion.

True, you'd need tissues at the ready, they lived such sad lives and then met gruesome ends.

Some of them were just homeless ladies dumped by their husbands and down on their luck.

Yes, I think a series based on "The Five" would be a fantastic watch.

I wish they would. 😥

Agree, it's very interesting, also available as an audio book

I know what you mean...

I think a series based solely on the victims life would be great, even if it didn't show their awful demise....and the actual monster himself wouldn't need to be in it....it could show who they were before and what life in London was like at the time etc.

Having read lots on the subject there is so much more to the women than their fate and it would make for fabulous TV.

.. and graphic photographs of the real victims taken post mortem are readily available on Google images.
Horrible. 😔

Personally, I won't look at stuff like this. (This isn't a dig at you, @Justleaveitblankthen). Those women had little enough dignity in their short lives, no dignity at all in their violent deaths, and they aren't even allowed any in the 130+ years after they died because shots of their mutilated bodies are floating around the internet. They didn't consent to that.
