Anyone watched it? It's making me feel a bit sick and sweaty. It seems horribly predictable. Not sure how it can go on for about 1hr 20 minutes!

Notsurewhattodo Yes, I loved the twist & didn't expect it at all.
That part made me feel really sad!

Just finished watching 'Fall' and thought it the biggest load of tosh I've watched in a long time, I actually couldn't believe that she hung on at the very top for so long to charge the drone, no muscle tension or tiredness. So contrived.
And I laughed out loud when the drone got all that way to the motel and got smashed by the truck . I'm a heartless so-and-so!

I concur. I watched it this evening and thought it was rubbish. Just totally unbelievable, terrible acting, and so, so boring...

LubaLuca · 07/03/2023 22:06

I thought it was quite boring. So contrived (would any climber ever put their bag on one shoulder only?!) and low quality acting and production.

Headheat · 08/03/2023 02:58

Anyone who likes this film watch the ledge, they’re very similar so far - before I realised they were climbing a tower and not a mountain, I nearly turned it off because I thought I’d already seen it!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 10/03/2023 22:52

Just finished it..Nice her friend tried to do something nice with her to help getting over the first trauma..but maybe not that! But people so stuff like that and just urghh. It was the wide and spinny shots! Think first half better bit still worth watching. Wanted to see it in the cinema so glad it's out elsewhere

DigitalTranny · 10/03/2023 23:13

This story would never happen in real life with women. Because women are cautious. They would never climb up in flimsy shoes and unprepared to a rickety, rattling, rusty contraption so high it makes you sick, ignoring all the warning signs on the way. It’s a very male thing to do. It should have been made with two male leads.

I loved it, thought it was brilliant & I'm going to watch it again.

Some of it was absolutely bleak & totally shocked me!

Some of it scared the shit out of me!

Some parts had me rolling my eyes like how did she hold on for so long during the lightbulb bit. Also, I can't think too deeply about it as I think I'd of had a horrendous headache due to dehydration & just wouldn't have been able to sit there without being overcome by dizzyness.

The ones that drove off made me furiously angry. I wanted it to show them seeing it on the news after & feeling full of remorseGrin

Wasn’t she hallucinating the drone charging lightbulb bit too?

BlackCatTabbyCat · 10/03/2023 23:35

Just finished watching this. Enjoyed it but my stomach is in knots and my hands were sweating. I thought you could still make calls to emergency services with no signal?

ReallyReallyReallyAm · 11/03/2023 00:53

DigitalTranny Ooh, was she?! Got me wondering now! I thought her dad drove passed the smashed drone on the ground near the end? (I suppose that doesn't mean she charged it though)

VanGoghsDog · 12/03/2023 23:24

Found it dull personally.

I thought they should have smashed the bulb - if the tower had a light to stop aircraft hitting it then when that light was out there would be maintenance people there pretty quickly.

Also, yes, you can usually phone emergency with no signal, plus sending a traditional text often goes when you're not aware with just a tiny bit of signal or a bounce off a plane or something.

And agree re lack of protocols. Flappy clothes, no gloves, not enough water, no hats in that sun, no food, noone knew where they were, etc.

No, she did do it, she just hallucinated her "friend" cheering her on.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/03/2023 23:29

Oh God, DD talked me into taking her to see this in the cinema. I read my book for some of it cos I couldn't bear to watch it all. Interesting twist at the end.

We also went to watch The Menu together. Much better film (though v weird and unexpected).

surreygirl1987 · 13/03/2023 00:01

I loved this film! Watched it last night and had ti look away for some bits... felt sick and dizzy about the antics when they got to the top!

I thought the twist was great. I wanted more of an ending though- felt too abrupt and unsatisfying.

I had to watch it sitting on the floor.
They could have tied the phone to the drone though to save it being smashed!

Very good point!

Rewind20Years · 13/03/2023 00:08

I watched bits of it on googlebox
That was enough
I dont think i could watch the whole thing
My stomach was a wreck!

ChillyB · 13/03/2023 00:11

I caught myself holding onto the back of the sofa to stop myself falling off watching this. I’m scared of heights I don’t know what possessed me to watch it.

inky1991 · 13/03/2023 00:14

I loved it. But why the fuck did they not use the drone to land the phone to the ground and send the SOS message!!

the80sweregreat · 13/03/2023 10:31

I didn't think of that about the drone and the camera. Hunter didn't realize for ages that the SOS text hadn't gone through.
Did the phones not work at all ( to ring anyone ?)
I was only half watching it as it was making me feel dizzy and sick at times and I kept thinking ' why are you doing this '?
Scatter his ashes at the base of a mountain instead.
Eating the bird was gross and the ending a tad unbelievable that she could go off with her dad without anyone asking her anything !
Plus they were trespassing too.

I’m not sure the drone could have carried the phone. Isn’t it to heavy for the drone, especially through such a distance? Drones are not designed to be weighed down..

ElizabethBest · 13/03/2023 20:42

At the time they dropped the phone, they didn’t HAVE the drone. The drone was in the backpack on the satellite dish.

Why, though, did hunter tie the rope to the platform before climbing down and then jump when it wasn’t long enough? If she’d just climbed down the bit of ladder and tied the rope to the bottom, she’d have been able to get the backpack and climb right back up again.

PinkPupZ · 15/03/2023 00:15

I really enjoyed it. Great twist too.
