Has anyone watched it? Contemplating seeing it in the theatre not sure ifs a bit bleak though.

I'm going to see it on Sunday.

I'm going to see it on Monday.

I thought it was very good. Did feel a bit stagey as it was adapted from a play. Strong cast.

I have just see. It, Brendan Fraser’s performance was fab and so underplayed. It made me feel pretty uncomfortable throughout though. It was a good film and Sadie Sink was great too although her character was not particularly likeable..

I've just seen it and enjoyed it. It was a film mainly about relationships. I have read Moby Dick and don't recommend it!

I've seen the play and hoping to see the movie version. Lots of good reviews about the film.

I came out in tears!

Definitely very much a play rather than a film, if that makes sense? Very haunting.

I enjoyed it but really wished that the daughter was more likeable. She was horrendous to him all the way through and yet he told her she was perfect!

I've seen it. It does feel like a play. Very claustrophobic. Felt it was slightly overlong.

I agree with the PP on the dislikeability of the daughter. In fact, none of the supporting characters were sympathetic at all imvho.

Brendan Fraser put in a stellar performance though.

I had no desire to see it but DH did so i went. Wish i hadnt. I found it a depressing film. Daughters character was horrible, absolutely no redeeming features at all. Dark, dank, dismal...but it was meant to be filmed like that i guess.

A sorry tale where a man, so engulfed in mental anguish, pain and grief basically eats himself to death but feels redemption on his last breath...

Hated it. It was dark and depressing. I like melancholic films, but this just felt dark and long. Worst film of the year so far.

Brendan Fraser is brilliant in it but I didn't like the film , none of the other characters are in any way likable.

The last scene where he flips his little feet and is raised up...😂there were a few guffaws in the cinema

Bit heavy and drawn out but agree he is excellent in it.

I mean, you can't really criticise BF, he was good in it, but it was so, so pretentious. And I agree about his feet at the end, I did a snort. Too long and stagey. And a bit repulsive which I guess was the point. Samantha Mortons accent was off as well.

Awful film - awful characters - the only character I liked was the young missionary.....oh and the pizza delivery guy 😆
Had zero sympathy for Charlie. Found him disgusting. Ellie was nasty and angry.
Absolute rubbish.

Yeah dh said the Dan the pizza man was the best character in it 😂

I mean, when you are asked to immediately sympathise with someone whacking off to gay porn it's a hard no.

I found it a bit 'meh' to be honest. Can't quite work out why it received so many accolades. There are much better films.

The way they all flocked around him trying to impress him was a bit yuck as well. If his lover had been a female student it would have had a whole different vibe
