Just saw a trailer for this and thought it looked good. Think I might go next week.

Have you seen it yet @Workerbeep ?

It looks good - menacing though!

Workerbeep · 25/01/2023 20:54

@rosegoldwatcher unfortunately the nearest cinema showing it, is 100miles away. Hoping my local independent will have it the next couple of months though.

So it's not a big enough film to be picked up by the Multiplexes!

My local independent film house is showing it in February but for only 5 performances.

I've just watched it and would be interested to see what others rb

SchoolSurvey · 12/02/2023 23:16

Don't know what happened there!!

I'd be interested to hear what others thought...?

I'm also wondering what others thought. I thought it was pretty good in showing how anxiety provoking emotionally abusive relationships are but I wished they had shown more about how the dynamic started rather than just the results once Alice had been broken down. I worry that people who haven't experienced this type of abuse might find the main character too passive and wonder why she didn't push back and stand up for herself more. You push back at the start but they silence you over time. Interested to hear more opinions on this film.

Yes I agree, some back story and how Alice was before Simon would have been better. It felt like it was the first three episodes of a six part TV series in a way.

Brilliant acting from Anna Kendrick - she made the film.

I saw this in Halifax last night. Couldn't find it in any other cinema in Greater Manchester or nearby.

I enjoyed it but there wasn't much substance to it. Anna Kendrick was marvellous but not a great film.

Just caught up with this film tonight. The trailer made it seem like there was going to be some major twist but I quite liked how it was just a drama.

I actually cried at the end when she said “where will you put your shame?”
And her friends said that they could have it.

not sure I would watch again but it was a decent enough watch even just the once.
