I've just watched Shakespeare in Love for the first time in years and enjoyed it so much. It's such a lovely, funny, silly film and made a nice change from my usual viewing. I'm going to bed all happy and cheerful for once!

What are your favourite feel-good films? Would love some recommendations please.

Preferably no crime, cruelty, gore or superheroes (I love Marvel/DC but honestly can't watch any more superhero movies or I will turn into the Hulk).

Father of The Bride (both of them!)

I like As Good As It Gets with Jack Nicholson.

I love watching that all cost on a cold wet Sunday afternoon for some reason

Have you seen mama mia and the sequel here we go again ? I don't even really like Abba, but the films are easy watching and make me smile and sort of brings the songs to life.

Also for a tv box set two pints of lager and a packet of crisps is good. It is old though, late 90s/early 00s so not especially PC.

Mrs Harris Goes To Paris

Shopaholic123Go · 21/11/2022 17:06

Just went through my film collection and found the rest

50 first dates
Chuck & Larry
Run fat boy run
Get him to the Greek
Due date
The boat that rocked
What happens in Vegas
Ratatouille
Hitch

About a boy, Mrs Henderson presents and goal are all good with a happy ending, but there's a (non-gorey) death in the story so a sad bit. Sean of the dead is brilliant but there's a little bit of gore (although generally nothing too awful) because it's a zombie comedy.

Love big business. - Bette midler A silly 80’s movie.
If I want a laugh then it has to be white chicks, laugh every time I watch it.

hellypad · 22/11/2022 21:42

While you were sleeping, gets double points as it is also a Christmas film

I might be alone in this, but I love Shallow Hal which is on the Disney app.

Devil Wears Prada is on there too.

I also love Practical Magic.

Yutes · 28/12/2022 18:17

Pride and Prejudice
The Wedding Date (admittedly this is my feel good film when I feel really off!)

PermanentTemporary · 28/12/2022 18:19

Soapdish. Quite old now but one of the funniest films I've ever seen. More of a rolling giggle than a belly laugh maybe but they don't lean on most of the jokes, its so quick and so well performed. As light as a feather.
