Saw this recently on a flight. Hadn't heard of it before.
Anyone else seen it ?
The legendary James Norton was brilliant in it. He nailed the the Northern Irish accent.
The little boy in it was cast perfectly.
Tears streamed down my face at the end.

Yes, I saw it at the cinema some while ago. I, too, thought that he held the accent without a falter all the way. Excellent not-well-known film. He found the right woman.

It really was excellent ( but heartbreaking ).
I can't believe it got no publicity.

It had a tiny bit of publicity. I had seen him talking about it on a show - either The One Show or Graham Norton, and I'd put it down as one to see, but it doesn't seem to have had much noise made about it, I agree.

Just watched this - as I wait for the penultimate episode of Happy Valley. He is amazing jn it. Agree that he totally nailed the accent. Really lovely film if heart breaking. I was bawling at the end of it all.

the boy who played Michael was brilliant - I was open mouthed when he had to give the teddy back.

It's a great film imho.
Very sad. James Norton is a very versatile actor.
From Tommy Lee to John the window cleaner ......
I also saw it on a flight and was a blubbering mess.

This film is currently available on Iplayer as it was broadcast on BBC 2 earlier this week. I too was in tears at the end.

Isn't it lovely @missmoffatt2705.
How it went under the radar, with the fabulous James Norton playing the lead is beyond me.

Princessintherosecastle · 16/07/2023 22:33

Thank you for letting me know it was iPlayer - I would have missed it otherwise!
Such a heartbreaking movie. I love James Norton ❤️

I cried and cried my eyes out 😥😥😥😥😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢😢

It got me thinking what's best for a child in that situation? You might think the well off couple could offer him the best of everything and why would you not want that for your child. Not wanting to give anything away here!

purpleme12 · 29/07/2023 16:26

I knew immediately the best one was the one they chose in the end.

newfloorplease · 29/07/2023 20:07

Isn't it just so good. It seemed to just slip in under the radar.

purpleme12 · 29/07/2023 20:13

I looked it up and the little boy seems to have only been in this film
