cos i love it so much, and ellen page is the only actress that truly deserves the oscar.

i won't even start on about how glad i am keira knightley's not nominated....

It is completely brilliant. Best film I've seen in ages. Really hope she wins the Oscar.

PrincessSnowLife · 09/02/2008 10:42

Watched this last night and thought it was excellent.

MyEye · 09/02/2008 10:46

I loved it too -- can't imagine anyone not. Fab crossover film and so goodhearted. (I was surrounded by teens and elderly couples, and everyone was on such a high at the end)

misdee · 09/02/2008 10:57

oooo, glad to see it is getting good reviews. want to see this. not sure dh does.

Tortington · 09/02/2008 18:45

watched this today.

i had much reservATIONS AS I AM USUALLY not into art house filsms tht have "rave" reviews
this ully means - up your own arse - wanky shot films about a load of poncy angst with a sad ending - they always die

so i watched this and i cried

n tears of sadness becuase ot was so crap

but tears of sadness becuse it was soo good - and there was a sad bit

it was realy v. god - however wouldnt takea man to see it unless he is in touch with his feelings

Heathcliffscathy · 09/02/2008 18:48

we're going to go and see it tomorrow night.

unless dh drags me into cloverfield

x

Is this suitable for 10 year olds to see? I have one who is hankering to see it but I suspect it's not really suitable. Thanks

MyEye · 13/02/2008 11:59

I don't think a 10yo would enjoy it much

PersephoneSnape · 13/02/2008 12:04

12 year old dd loved it though. tinker could you try and see it yourself and then let them go once you've seen it? is it a PG or a 12A?

Tinker · 13/02/2008 19:23

Thank you. It's a 12A. I asked on another thread as well and the consensus was a Not really appropriate. Maybe on dvd in a few years time - if she still remembers it by then.

PersephoneSnape · 14/02/2008 13:14

my dd informed me last night that female genitalia is called a 'vadge'. thank you Juno. ( this isn't really so bad, theres a lot worse things to call a twinkle! ;)

SheherazadetheGoat · 14/02/2008 13:26

i had big old tears rolling down my cheeks and going down my collar. i loved it. though i could not get over justin bateman's uncanny resemblance to his sister.

Toots · 15/02/2008 17:57

StheGoat, who is his sister?

DH had to come and see it. My birthday, my rules. He got well teary and made a few honking sort of covering it up noises. Loved the film and dh softy response deeply satisfying.

turquoise · 20/02/2008 22:03

Just got in from this. Loved it, cried, laughed, thought it was beautiful. And thankfully almost cheese free.

Best film all year.

Definitely not for 10 yos though, my dd has been badgering to see it, not a chance.

LittleMissBliss · 02/03/2008 18:04

I went to see Juno yesterday, it was so good, and i almost cried. Its just so well acted and to the point and true and heartfelt not in a crappy romcom way. DP came aswell and actually enjoyed it (rare for us to enjoy the same films) and for mothers day i got the soundtrack!

BroccoliSpears · 02/03/2008 18:36

Definitely the best film I've seen for a long time. Really well done.

harj27 · 04/03/2008 21:18

i have to agree, it is a really goos film, best one i've seen in ages, better than atonement, which also very good, still trying to understand no country for old men!

MetallicCerisePan · 31/03/2008 22:15

but I too saw this last week. Really liked it alot. Was a bit curious to see what was 'funny' about the subject matter, but it was charm itself. adore the "I'm sticking with you song".

mrsbabookaloo · 31/03/2008 22:22

Went to see this with DH on a rare date night and it was the perfect date film for a couple with a toddler who don't spend enough time together: we laughed, we cried and had a really romantic night and a real feeling of connection when we got home.
Brilliant stuff.

tensmum · 31/03/2008 22:25

I thought it was great too,

mazzystar · 31/03/2008 22:25

Loved it, loved it, so did DH.

Lead actress was just mesmerising. Her smart-arse-ness was fantastic.

Sound-track started to irritate me though - become a bit of a cliche all that re-discovered lite folk stuff I think.

binkleandflip · 31/03/2008 22:28

thought it was alright but not worth all the hype

ElenorRigby · 01/04/2008 14:07

hated it, worst ive seen in ages

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 02/04/2008 14:42

I loved it, and also own the soundtrack.

I really didn't expect the ending.
It reminds me of Todd Solondz films in style, but much more heartwarming.
