Interesting one as I’m admiring CT’s abilities as a serious actress here.

I thought the film was not great- a luke warm, average comedy but quite sweet.

I don’t particularly like her as old Nan, but I really enjoyed her as the young nan. So nice to see her in a serious-ish role and she did it very nicely imho.

She is a trained actress so I shouldn’t be so surprised I suppose, but I was really touched by her portrayal. Love anything to do with the Blitz and the war on the Homefront anyway, and she was delightful.

If you haven’t seen it, I recommend for the flashbacks alone!

She annoyed me when she was in Dr Who she just seemed too over the top, maybe she’s calmed down now with experience but I can’t watch her now without seeing her as Donna Noble
