DH and I are trying to remember the name of a horror film we watched last year, except we can’t remember any of the actors or the director or the year it came out...
It wasn't a great film, it's just frustrating us that we can't remember the title. It had “Hills have eyes” “wrong turn” vibes… please help!
Obviously huge spoilers below as I’m trying to give as much of the plot details away as I can remember.
Husband and wife go camping with at least 1 child in a big national park (assuming America, but could have been Canada).
They wake up in the morning to discover that their child is missing. Eventually the search is called off and they head home but end up separating.
On an anniversary of the disappearance, the husband wants to go back to search. His ex-wife is reluctant as she believes the child is gone and is trying to move on, but ends up going with him. They pay a local man to lead them into the forest and protect them from the people who live on the land (cannibals?).
The man that the parents pay ends up dying I think along as well as a park ranger.
I can’t remember if just 1 parent or both survive at the end of the film... but they find their son and he has been living with the cannibals. Although he recognises his parents, he refuses to go home with them (and possibly kills them).
