As I can't see a thread in this topic about the 50 years on re-release of Cabaret, I want to recommend it as highly as possible. I saw it when it first came out, I was about 19, and thought it was brilliant then, and have seen it once since, I think on television. But seeing it today on a big screen was fantastic. The screenplay, songs, cinematography, acting, dancing, everything.

I'm not much younger than you and I don't think I ever saw it at the cinema.
I bet it's brilliant on the big screen

Oh how wonderful! One of my favourites ever! What a film! Joel Grey is just mesmerising. I was born the year it came out so this would be a first for me, seeing it on the big screen.

Well I hope you can get to see it @TheVanguardSix ! And @Redshoeblueshoe it really does work much better on a big screen.

One of my favourites and I too saw it recently at the cinema. The songs are timeless as are the performances.

On a superficial note, wasn't Michael York absolutely gorgeous back then?
