Could I watch it with tweens?

Which version? The original (and best) is an 18, the recent remake a 12A.

We watched it ages ago with our then DS12 - it was fine. It's still a good film!

I had absolutely no idea it was an 18, but it was my favourite film in the world as a young teen!

I recall that the original has people firing guns, which may have set it at an 18 at the time. Isn't there also a sex scene with Keanu and Lori Petty?

Pretty sure it was a 15 when it was released as I went to watch it at the cinema. 1991, so I was either 14 or 15 myself. There's some nudity and violence but not as bad as some 15 films that are out there today and I think I let my 13 yr old watch it.

Great film anyhow. So many daft, quotable lines and Patrick Swayze at his sexiest.

Ah, it was cut slightly for the cinema and got an 15, then released on video as an 18 with the restored scenes.

I can't remember it that well I saw it so long ago.

I watched it this afternoon. It's pretty constant with the eff word (according to IMDb just under a hundred times) and my tolerance for the constant in the face shouting was worn thin by the end. That said, the foot chase and the sky diving scenes are amazing.

I actually don't know why it would have been an 18, maybe because the criminals are made to look cool and possibly something impressionable kids could aspire to? I don't think it'd be an 18 if it was being classified today.
