Has anyone watched it? I really thought it was a thought provoking film and kept thinking about it after it finished which surprised me.

It left me feeling very unsettled. I watched it with DH, we talked about it for weeks afterwards.
It was very well done.

RoastedTurnip · 31/12/2021 19:50

I also watched it with DH. he teared up at the end which is very unlike him. We have 2 young daughters and I think it really hit home for him the crap females go through.
One of the best films I've seen in a long time.

Epic fail of a spoiler alert. Forgot I’d originally intended to say my piece. And changed my mind and forgot I’d already typed that!

Hopefully the last arsehole move of 2021 !!

SilkySuky · 31/12/2021 20:11

I loved it. It's gotten some very mixed reviews so I haven't watched it until this week but I thought it was very well done. The music was great and the bed scene at the end was so uncomfortable to watch but I couldn't tear my eyes away.

icelollycraving · 31/12/2021 21:30

It was very cleverly done. I keep thinking about it.

It was fantastic. I was in floods of tears at the end.

Had the same effect on me as Joker, I found it very unsettling, extremely sad and moving and thought about it for days afterwards.

Chocaholic9 · 01/01/2022 13:45

Why on earth has someone posted a spoiler on here? So uncalled for. I was looking forward to watching this film.

Elieza · 01/01/2022 16:37

Why the spoiler - Because I made a mistake, as I clearly explained. It wasn’t deliberate. Apologies.

I’d have asked for my post to be taken down had it not been new year and prob nobody in mn hq to take it down!

However I will ask for that post to be removed now.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 02/01/2022 09:28

fantastic,
excellent outcome

NutellaEllaElla · 02/01/2022 09:30

Why people click on threads about shows they haven''t seen is beyond me, of course there is a high chance of spoilers.

I also thought the film was fantastic.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 02/01/2022 11:16

exactly @NutellaEllaElla
the film has been out for ages
you should be able to read about it and chat about it after the event!

icelollycraving · 06/01/2022 18:59

I still keep thinking about this film. I may watch again tonight. I can’t remember when a film affected me in this way.

Don’t read this post if you don’t want to know what happens.

It felt to me like I just wanted her to get justice for all the bad stuff and it hurt when she didn’t.

Her failure reminded me of my own. All the times I should have gotten justice - better treatment at work, by boyfriends, by my fiancé, all the times life’s shat on me.

I just wanted her to win as then it would be like me winning and I’d be happy for her (even though she’s not real) because she got the justice I didn’t.

Stupid huh. But perhaps that’s just me that feels like that Hmm

LuluBlakey1 · 06/01/2022 20:07

Where is it on?

33goingon64 · 06/01/2022 20:15

Yes, agree it was stunning. I watched it with DH, not really knowing much about it, and so glad I did. An important film for men and women to see and absorb. A few scenes really struck me in particular. The university Dean saying she couldn't possibly risk a man's future by investgating every crime of sexual violence that's reported; and the one where the boyfriend says he doesn't know where she went that night. (I don't think either of these are spoilers, hopefully...?). I shouted loudly at the TV at both of those and woke the cat.

Elieza · 06/01/2022 20:28

It’s currently free if you have sky cinema.

It’s also showing on ‘sky thriller’ (presumably that’s a new channel) at 6am on Monday.

Etinoxaurus · 06/01/2022 20:31

It was excellent, but disturbing. DH (a good ‘un) found it ‘a bit death culty’

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 06/01/2022 20:38

I really liked it. I think once you have watched it seeing the cast interview with Emerald who directed it is interesting for seeing the choices they made re certain scenes.

They also deliberately chose the male cast members for their past work and perceived goodness which I think works well and I have seen them in their other roles.

My favourite scene is with the Dean at the college and about perspective. I found that part particularly chilling. All of the film haunted me for a while.

calliecapers · 18/01/2022 13:35

This film is brilliant. I watched it twice over

Chilling

NoOtherShadeOfBlue · 18/01/2022 13:39

I watched it twice and the second time I cried all the way through. The first time, the shock and tension meant I didn't get the full emotional impact - I think it absolutely deserves to be seen twice. It has stayed with me. It's so powerful.

OneFrenchEgg · 17/09/2023 20:36

Im watching it now, came to find a thread.
I'm not into it. I don't know if it's meant to be fantasy in places? Like the tyre iron and the road rage? I just don't feel loads of it is possible so is it fantasy?

Tonight1 · 19/09/2023 20:58

I was looking at the film forum this afternoon and was curious about this so read up on it and thought it sounded intriguing - there wasn't mention of a fantasy element?

StarbucksSmarterSister · 19/09/2023 22:04

When I watched it I already knew about the ending but I still thought it was absolutely brilliant.

Tonight1 · 20/09/2023 06:50

I had a bad night's sleep so watched it for the first time - it was unusual. I can understand a burning desire for justice and the impact of loss changing your life.

This will sound frivolous but I really loved her wig at the end.
