Looking like a holiday abroad in 2022 is going to be tricky with Covid again, and craving some escapism. Can anyone recommend any good films set in nice holiday destinations?
I'm thinking of things like Forgetting Sarah Marshall (Hawaiii) and Couples Retreat (Bora Bora)
Can anyone think of any others?

If you like France The Hundred Foot Journey is a lovely feel-good film

That looks good, I've put that one on the list @BiggerBoat1

Couples retreat is good! Beautiful location made me want to book a flight to Bora Bora the next day Sad

The Way is set on El camino de Santiago. It's a lovely film, if a bit sad, and the scenery is great.

My house in Umbria
Tea with Mussolini
Letters to Juliet
All with beautiful Italian backdrops. Smile

The Talented Mr Ripley is another for lovely Italian scenery.

TwoScottieDogs · 28/12/2021 22:02

@Echofallen Oo, I'd forgotten that one! Great scenery.

I’ve been watching succession and it’s full of vile people but they go on some lovely holidays!

There’s an ep of Poirot, The Mystery of the Blue Train, set in the South of France, filmed in and around Nice/Villefranche. It’s so, so lovely.
