Well it's a bit of a draft film title. But I liked it! Gal Gadot is mesmerising, clearly the studios know she can do a fight scene after wonder woman. Loved the rock! Ryan Reynolds was funny. Liked the twists.

It did feel like a mash up of Indiana Jones & James Bond! But better than both. Car chases, glam party etc etc.
Hope they do a second one.

I thought it was crap.

Normally I love The Rock and Ryan Reynolds, but together they had no chemistry. Better when Gal Godot was there though, she is fantastic.

dudsville · 29/11/2021 21:28

We watched it over the weekend and thought it was perfectly enjoyable, exactly what we were looking for in easy fun light entertainment!

Zampa · 29/11/2021 21:31

It was enjoyable nonsense and perfect fit my sick bed.

However, having also just watched Jungle Cruise, my stomach is turned by the number of much younger leading ladies that Dwayne Johnson pairs himself with.

Sidge · 29/11/2021 21:35

I enjoyed it. Didn’t take itself too seriously, action, comedy and easy Friday night film.

And I love Ryan Reynolds so I’ll watch anything he’s in.

soapboxqueen · 29/11/2021 21:35

I thought it was OK.

Individually I love all three stars but I don't feel that the chemistry was there and I really didn't buy the twist at the end.

MickelC · 01/12/2021 18:58

I got mixed reviews from friends, I enjoyed the movie. Gin

GrrrlPwr · 02/12/2021 10:55

I mean it is a bit daft! Depends on what you are expecting maybe. Serious spy movie- nope. Fun James bond/ India Jones escapade- yep

I was disappointed. The Rock and RR had no chemistry and RR was irritating. I wanted to like it but it didn't seem to work as a film, just seemed very forced. I also didnt buy the twist at the end.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 07/12/2021 17:27

Dear God the special effects were shite.
And as for the vehicle chase scene in the tunnel...

hopeishere · 07/12/2021 17:52

We watched it with DS and all enjoyed it. Light entertainment.

SirSamuelVimes · 07/12/2021 17:59

It was shite but entertainingly silly shite. A nice change from anything Bond like which has become so very serious. Nothing wrong with that, but I can't handle watching that at home on a random Thursday evening towards the end of a long week.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 07/12/2021 18:03

I put it on last weekend and ended up scrolling through my phone. Clearly wasn’t holding my attention. I’ve since seen that it’s something like the most watched film on Netflix ever and lots of positive reviews about it so I think I’ll give it another go.

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 07/12/2021 18:03

I just watched it to ogle Ryan Reynolds Blush

dumdedumpop · 07/12/2021 18:07

@Zampa

It was enjoyable nonsense and perfect fit my sick bed.

However, having also just watched Jungle Cruise, my stomach is turned by the number of much younger leading ladies that Dwayne Johnson pairs himself with.

Emily Blunt is 11yrs younger than his and Gal Godot is 13yrs younger. So it's not exactly scandalous...
dumdedumpop · 07/12/2021 18:08

We watched it as a family and had a fun couple of hours. It didn't blow my mind but it was perfectly entertaining.

dumdedumpop · 07/12/2021 18:09

@Invasionofthegutsnatchers

I just watched it to ogle Ryan Reynolds Blush
After seeing this, Free Guy and Detective Pikachu, I just don't fancy him anymore but I think he's adorably funny and I luffs him
Sparklfairy · 07/12/2021 18:11

It was weird. I watched it dubbed in Spanish (not a stealth brag, I'm trying/failing to learn!) and loved it. Then watched it again in English a while later with a friend (after saying how good it was) and it seemed much... flatter Confused maybe the dubbing voice actors had better chemistry with each other?

fallfallfall · 07/12/2021 18:19

i really enjoyed it :)
hope to watch it again with family over christmas

GrrrlPwr · 07/12/2021 19:11

Oh totally agree about the scene in the train carriage. It was so crap! Maybe they spent all the budget on the prison wall escape?

It was nonsense but enjoyable nonsense. I thought RR and the Rock had chemistry and GG was very good. It made me laugh - hope they do another one.

Riverlee · 03/05/2022 16:25

Recently watched it, and we likened it to Indiana Jones and James Bond also! We even looked out for the cliche, James Bond/action film moments!

We quite enjoyed it. It was harmless fun, with some comedic elements between the action.

SnakesAndRubies · 03/05/2022 16:32

However, having also just watched Jungle Cruise, my stomach is turned by the number of much younger leading ladies that Dwayne Johnson pairs himself with.

That's thrown me because I always had the impression DJ was less likely to do that than oher actors. Revealing the cheesy films I watch - I've seen San Andreas and Skyscraper and in remember thinking in both of them, how refreshing it was that his wife in each seemed about the same age...?

Maybe I just had a lucky selection!
