Just seen it, thought it was a great film but I thought one plot hole didn’t quite make sense - but I don’t want to put a spoiler!

Same!

I did enjoy it though. Especially how transported to the 60s it felt.

Saw this last night. Thought it was a bit disjointed and - in common with most films I've seen recently- could do with some judicious editing, however Worth a watch and good to have a film with women as the main protagonists- although I did feel sorry for the main characters would be boyfriend.

Tormundsbeard · 30/10/2021 11:02

I really enjoyed it. Think it would have been better without one aspect, but would be a spoiler to mention…. Maybe we should have a spoiler discussion thread?

Nitgel · 31/10/2021 07:00

Really enjoyed this too. Would like to see again.. brilliant cast

JustDanceAddict · 31/10/2021 12:06

I loved it. Especially the young Lindsay - shame he wasn't in it more 😊

We could have 'spoilers ' put in the thread title?
JSL52 · 31/10/2021 15:17

I thought Lindsay was Jack , but realised Sandy was Sandy.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 31/10/2021 15:39

Personally, I think it would have been a better film without the ‘zombie ghosts’.

Anna Taylor Joy and Thomasin McKensie are v good - Anna in particular, she has real star presence. In the 90’s for a while I drank at The Toucan every night - it is a tiny bar, so it was a surprise to see it featured in a film.

I think Edgar Wright is a talented director. This hasn’t knocked Hot Fuzz off as my favourite film of his, but it is up there with Scott Pilgrim maybe.

TyrannysaurusXXrightshoarder · 31/10/2021 16:56

Saw it today with DDs. We’re big Edgar Wright fans. I thought it was good if a little repetitive, but maybe that was a conscious choice. It Diana Rigg made it all worth while tbh. Didn’t love Thomasin McKenzie, but did love Michael Ajao. And Edgar Wright always gives good soundtrack! Grin

The biggest hole for me was no one suspecting the 'clients' of Sandy/Alex were all going missing.

Yep, me too. I also thought it odd that Lindsey suggested he had looked for Sandy when he came back to London, but couldn't find her - but she was living at the same address under her real name all these years so that couldn't be true.
Juniper68 · 31/10/2021 17:38

Sam Claflin looked hot in this though.

Yes 🥰

But also why could Ellie see Sandy when she wasn’t dead?? Or have I missed the point?!

In her time travel dreams I thought.

I saw it last night and loved it, had the soundtrack in my car for the drive home.
I didn't realise how spooky it was going to get which was fine, but I had the screen to myself and would have proper shat myself if anyone had come in!

Glad you loved it. I'll have to listen to the soundtrack.

Wasn't it strange about the lovebite.

ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff · 04/11/2021 17:35

I can join in now! I sort of liked it and sort of didn't. Every time another scene with the ghosts and queue another round of Ellie's screaming, running and looking scared I began to sigh. Didn't love Thomasin, loved Anna T-J. Really wanted Jocasta to get her just deserts, nearly getting stabbed didn't quite cut it for me!
