Hi. I've recently discovered this film & watched it 3 times. I think it's very real & true to life. I love the part where Laura says something like 'You can't just go up to a random person in a pub & start talking to them' & he's like 'Well, you can!'
And the part where Ray says to his brother 'Im sorry I missed your marriage. And I'm sorry I missed your divorce'
It also got me googling 'Speed of the sound of lonliness' & I've fallen in love with the Nancy Griffith version.
I havnt watched him in many other movies apart from Flashbacks of a fool. That's another favourite of mine. I just looked up the reviews for that (I never bother with reviews before watching a film) and they are mostly bad... After watching that film I'm always left wishing that one day I can have a simple life with a house on the beach. There is a part near the end that breaks my heart. Beautifully played by Miriam Karlin.
