This is a pretty faithful rendition of Shirley Jackson's disturbing tale of Merricat and co. If you're a fan of hers I recommend it. On Prime with no subtitles.

There's also a film, "Shirley", a biog of Shirley Jackson on Netflix. I haven't watched it all, it made me uncomfortable. She was a very odd person, as evidenced by her work, but looming on genius in some respects I think. Absolutely understands the Outsider. And why wouldn't she.
