Has anyone watched Us?

I recently watched Us with Lupita Nyong'o, who I thought was just brilliant.

I'm a bit confused about what was going on. Did the young Lupita stay in the underground tunnels? If so, why was she just like the dopplegangers then? Her movements weren't human, the way she walked wasn't human.

But, the 'human' her wasn't touched by the other dopplegangers, so they must have known it was her. So that one must have been the doppleganger...

I'm a bit confused.

Yes, basically they swapped places.

The real Addy wasn't entirely like the doppelganger. She had a voice and speech but the rest of them communicated with clicks and grunts. She was also a better dancer than "Addy" as can be seen in the final fight sequence.
Note that Addy wasn't clicking her fingers in time to "I've got 5 on it".
Also "Red" knew where the spare key was kept for the holiday home and when she went in, she looked at the picture on the wall as if remembering something.

Amazing actress.

Yes the definitely swapped places, hence the hands across America from the advert.

Cannot work out where the scissors came from though.

Ok, I was just confused about why she went into the tunnel as a young girl but old enough to have memories. Why she didn't try to escape and why she walked like the Dopplegangers.

I love Lupita Nyong'o and think she should be in everything!

What I most liked about the film was the naturalistic portrayal of the family. Them making fun of the dad and the horror mad kid. I also thought Elizabeth Moss was very good. Her character was very primal as a doppleganger.

Here's Lupita at comic con:

There’s a really good explanation of it all on YouTube.

A specific film. Yes, they have changed and it's not obvious, which is good in some sense.

One of my favourite films. I was blown away by it in the cinema and enjoyed it a few times since. Also love Get Out.

I also loved this film. So much. I spent days googling theories after! And loved Get Out too.

Apparently Jordan Peele is doing a remake of Amityville Horror which is one of my all time favourite horror books so I can't wait to see what he'll do with it.

Was her son a doppelgänger?
