I've been reading reviews of Promising Young Woman and its prompted a memory of an American film I saw on TV in the mid 80s. So possibly a 1970s film.
A female student who is a bit of a need, and seem as not very attractive, is asked out on a date by a medical student. He then humiliates her in publican front of all the other students. It turns out they are all "in" on the plot and she is mortified and drops out of college.
Roll forward a few years, she has remade herself, looks amazing, has a successful career etc and hunts down the students who were responsible. One by one she dates them and kills them. There was a particularly gruesome scene with one of them being drowned.
I haven't seen Promising Young Woman so have no idea if the films are similar bug I would really like to see the 1970s/80s film again.
Does anyone remember it or know what it's called?
