Watched it last night and was mesmerized (and REALLY scared of the monster with eyes in his hands!)

So great, is anyone else a fan? (or not!)

yes, really good film

dinny · 10/11/2007 16:51

dh was "I'm not in the mood for watching subtitles" but was also fixated!

it was so sad and wonderful - and horribly violent. WAS the faun good? was it all in her imagination? oh, was fantastic.

that monster - can't work out why the way he held his hands to see was quite so scary...

I saw this at the cinema, expecting somethig a little surreal and light hearted. Wow, did I get a surprise. I thought it was an amazing and powerful film but not one I'd want to sit through again any time soon as I found it to be quite arduous. Tonight, we're going to be watching the Chuck and Larry film which is probably the polar opposite of Pan's Labyrinth. Have you seen Eagle vs Shark? That's a great one.

dinny · 10/11/2007 20:45

Yes, I thought it would be a kids' film! Er, not!

I watched this with my DH the other night. Still unsure if it was a happy ending. If was 10, it would have scared the bejaysus out of me. Althought at 28, it made me cry.

Watched it last week. Enjoyed it very much. I think I'd have prefered less violence, I know it was relevant but not very enjoyable to watch. I'd have liked to see more of the fairytale side of it.

KKx · 13/03/2008 20:04

My DH loved it.

PuppyMonkey · 13/03/2008 20:05

Brilliant film.. watched it a couple of months back and I often think about it still. Haunting!

Habbibu · 13/03/2008 20:06

Oh, fab fab fab. His other films also well worth watching - Devil's Backbone very scary but brilliant.

sylvev · 15/03/2008 21:17

It is a wonderful film, stays with you for ages. The Devils backbone is excellent too. We've got another on rental from amazon that we will watch this weekend called Cronos, something to do with vampires I think.

I really liked this - the mixture of real;ism and fantasy.

What was the name fo that Czech filmmaker... Svankmeyer..he might not be Czech actually. It had a lot of his influence.

jellybeans · 29/03/2008 19:57

It was Ok but awful violence ruined it for me, yuk!
